Government rice warehouse stocks have climbed over 14% from the previous year, reaching record highs for early September. Market analysts, including the Centre for International Cooperation in Agricultural Research for Development (Cirad), expect downward pressure on global rice prices to persist at least until early 2026 with the arrival of new Asian crops.
