The Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025 is set to begin October 30-31 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with NITI Aayog support. This flagship conference aims to position India's leadership in the global rice supply chain with several key initiatives:

Conference Scale and Participation:

  • Foreign Ministers from Philippines, Ghana, Namibia, and The Gambia are participating

  • Expected attendees: 5,000 farmers, 2,500 exporters, millers, and allied industries, and nearly 1,000 foreign buyers from 80+ countries

  • Major cooperative institutions like NCEL, NCOL, BBSSL, and Kribhco are participating

Major Targets:

  • ₹1.80 lakh crore in new rice import markets to be unlocked

  • ₹25,000 crore worth of export MoUs expected to be signed

  • 26 new markets identified for export expansion, including Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Iraq, US, Malaysia, China, France, UAE, Brazil, South Africa, Belgium, Japan, Germany, Kenya, Indonesia, and Mexico
